In Krakow there are 2 Ekstraklasa football teams (Polish equivalent of English Premier League): Wisła Krakow and Cracovia. Each year both clubs play against each other during derby of Krakow – it’s called “Krakow’s Holy Football War” and though Wisla has more wins on its account, it’s Cracovia who won the last derby in 2014 !

About Cracovia
Cracovia is the oldest team in Poland and has been in competition since 1906. They play their home games at Józef Piłsudski Stadium which is located next to Błonia Park, with the stadium having a capacity of 15,500.
In 2013-14 Cracovia finished in 14th position in the Ekstraklasa, just missing out on relegation after an impressive first half of the season . It was actually Cracovia’s first season back in the top flight after relegation two years before saw them relegated to I Liga , however they spent just one season in Poland’s second tier; gaining promotion straight away.
About Wisla Krakow
Wisla are also one of the oldest teams in Poland, forming in 1906 not long after neighbours Cracovia. Wisla play their home games at Henryka Reymana Stadium which is located only a few hundred metres away from Cracovia. The stadium has a capacity of 33,000.
Wisla Krakow are one of the most successful teams in Poland, having won the Ekstraklasa 14 times and competed in Europe on a number of occasions.
In recent seasons they have suffered a bit of a slump, however in 2013-14 only a dreadful run of form after the winter break saw them denied a place in Europe. They’ll be hoping to do much better this season.
