A Stag Weekend away centres on fun and celebration while a company or corporate activity weekend centres on bonding and future promotions. The approach and choice of activities maybe motivated differently but essentially the aim and goal is to experience unusual high adrenaline circumstances which will define you and your character with your peers or colleagues.
One of the most popular activities chosen by all three groups is White Water Rafting. This activity encourages everyone on board the raft to work together and highlights a natural leader and their abilities to guide and lead his team to overcome the rapids. The different groups all recognise a natural born leader in such circumstances and this interesting revelation is stored for future use.
Another excellent activity to have great fun, to bond and emphasize team work is Paintballing, this activity requires certain skills to survive and be declared a winner. No matter which particular type of group you are, nobody wants to be eliminated and so you all begin to work together. The Stag Group divides into two teams and the team with the actual Stag protect him at all costs while the opposing team tries to eliminate him. Company teams look to a leader to command and organise while the sport group’s team bond more to protect each other in the alien environment. There are many other similar activities which reflect the importance of working together to obtain a better result especially in the shooting category which offers AK47 Shooting Range which has all sorts of different weapons to fire at targets, Soft Air Shooting in urban or jungle scenarios and the fun filled open air Bows & Arrows Fight. All of these activities give immense enjoyment and bring out other skills or thought processes many participants never knew they had, very enlightening for all concerned but above all good fun.
A sumptuous evening meal is always appreciated but with a Stag Party invariably a stripper is incorporated while the corporate version will not have one. Also the drinking habits will differ between the Stag and company organised event. The Stag Party will consume much more alcohol than the corporate one as the participants know their bosses are watching. That is a pity because the Stag Group option has the Oil Wrestling & Beer event which features two scantily clad fighter strippers grappling each other in an oil filled pool. Unthinkable for a corporate organised evening but a must do for a Stag Party Weekend Do as the Stag is dragged in with the fighter strippers in the final round, never mind corporate goers you can try this one when you are invited to a Stag Do.
A corporate bonding weekend has its objectives, the staff are to enjoy an all-expenses paid fun weekend with the company assessing new possible managerial candidates or creating bonds for optimum results on different projects. The Stag Party members probably already know each other, must pay for their trip and are out to celebrate the Stag’s passage to becoming a married man. The corporate situation does not look to humiliate anyone but to enhance you work environment with your co-workers, however, the Stag Do is completely the opposite. The Stag according to folklore, rituals and tradition must be ridiculed, humiliated and debased during an evening of debauchery and over the top behaviour. Strangely enough though, both styles of events are highly appreciated and very good fun with or without a strip artist involved.
The common denominator which runs apparent whether you are in a Stag Do or Corporate Event is or are the activities that both groups participate in, they are the same and create a lot of happy fun-filled moments. The final outcome for the groups does differ in the personal private or professional career lives, you could say that a corporate person arrives in a suit and tie but gets the chance to dress up in diverse or fancy dress clothing whereas a Stag Party member arrives in diverse and fancy dress clothing but leaves in a suit and tie or at least in every day accepted clothing.
Corporate events concentrate on specific areas or subjects which include networking, team-building and charity promotion along with product launches. Staff training is often enhanced with a weekend of fun activities designed to increase the said team-building aspect.
As different as chalk & cheese or two peas in a pod? The activities are identical but the overall conclusions are interpreted differently.
